It appears the Nintendo Wii will continue to stay at the prices you see currently as today the Nintendo president Satoru Iwata shot down talk of a Wii price cut anytime soon.
Iwata said that whilst it was approaching holiday season and a prime Christmas shopping month, there were no plans to cut the price of the console. He said “Of course, we cannot say it will never happen, but we are not thinking of it for the near future,”. [Read more...]

NPD Group have today revealed that Nintendo have sold on average 46,000 Wii Remotes every day in the US and continue to do so. This is interesting when there have been rumours of Wii Console slow down, especially if you considered the large amount of numbers being spoken about, then it is obvious that these Wii Remotes are not just for the hardened gamers, as there is enough remotes to mean that for every man, woman and child living in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, San Jose, Detroit and San Francisco, and enough still remains for every resident of Florida, Ohio, Virginia and North Dakota according to NPD Group. Following on from yesterday’s blog post will the Wii Remote Plus debut alone … it was uncertain if the new controller was just going to be in the Red Wii Console bundle or if it was to be bundled in the FlingSmash game too. Well Nintendo have today confirmed that the new controller will indeed be coming with the new game and it will be here on November 19th.
The new controller, first released with the Red Wii Console will give more accuracy in the way you play with the controller without having to use the original Motion Plus add on as it will already be fixed internally. The Wii Remote Plus is the same size as the Wiimote plus all the compatible peripherals such as the Nunchuk and the Classic Controller will fit into the base of it. [Read more...]

With news that the Red Wii Console is to be released on the 29th October bundled with Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, two preloaded games and the Wii Remote Plus, there have been questions as to whether Nintendo will release the Wii Remote Plus without the Red Wii Console.
We all know that playing a game with the Motion Plus is great, in my house there was always concern in case the device which makes a normal controller into a Motion Plus would actually stay on when we are flinging our arms about to Grand Slam Tennis. This is why there is so much excitement about the Wii Remote Plus that is in the Red Wii Console bundle as the Motion Plus part of the controller is already built in to the device and it is the same size as the normal controller so you won’t even know it is there.

Nintendo knew what they were doing with the Wii Party game as the game entered the UK charts at number ten this week. The Wii Party, although not at the top of the charts will definitly be a grower as more and more Christmas lists add this fun title to the items wanted from Santa.
With the Mii characters playing a big part in the game and the Wii remote coming as part of the bundles, then this game should run and run. And talking of Christmas, Nintendo have just released their Christmas marketing campaign. Due to there being so many games either set to be realised or in the Pipeline for the Nintendo Wii Console, I can’t help being overly excited about the Epic Mickey Wii Game. The opening cinematic was released today and it shows a four minute clip of Mickey Mouse happening upon an unknown wizard’s creation of a whole world created by magical paints. The rumour mills went into overdrive at the beginning of this month when there was speculation that there was to be a Wii game GoldenEye remake. As well as there being the now confirmed Wii game, there was also information about a golden gun Wii remote and classic controller and it’s a beauty its true!

According to the Japanese press, there is to be a Nintendo 3D Wii Console to mimic the Nintendo 3DS. The boss of the console giant, Satoru Iwata has told the press that they are thinking about using the same kind of 3D technology in the follow up Wii Console as well as keeping it in the 3DS as planned.
He is quoted as saying that they would probably put 3D in the next Nintendo Wii system when more than more than 30 per cent off people adopt 3D television as these trends are very important to them. According to Iwata, Nintendo have been considering about this kind of technology for nearly 20 years, hence the unsuccessful which subsequently Virtual Boy crashed and burned. [Read more...]
Something that surprised me about last week’s E3 expo was the fact that the Nintendo Vitality Sensor was missing. So the Nintendo E3 conference has been and gone and they really pulled the stops out this year to announce some great titles! I won’t bore you with small talk so let’s get right down to it!
Firstly, great news for the dancers amongst us as there is a Just Dance 2 being released! I personally thought there might be a different title but never the less, as long as the game is as good as the last one, who cares what it’s called!!! Just Dance 1 launched in November and secured four No.1s in the UK this year and has sold over a million copies in Great Britain. The big day is nearly here for all Nintendo Wii Console fans as tomorrow is the E3 Expo. For those of you not in the know about the E3 Expo it’s the world’s leading trade show for computer and video games in L.A. Although the3DS has kept the Wii off the main stage recently, this Expo is expected to be the stage for more announcements to get the console interest high again.
The new Legend of Zelda game will be unveiled hopefully with the Motion Plus playing an even more vital role in the title. These is hope that it will be released just in time for Christmas so get that one on your Christmas list!

The newest Wii Game to be announced is EA Sports first Ice Hockey game designed specifically for the Nintendo Wii Console. Due out in the US in the Autumn, Ice Hockey legend Wayne Gretzy will be the name to promote the game by being on the cover and also featuring as a playable character and a coach in one of the games.
Kotaku have just published a really interesting list of the twenty most loved Wii Games. This is based on the games that are getting the most use per player. Questions that they covered in the list was that it isn’t a top selling Wii games list as it is a list determined by the data made public by Nintendo telling which games get played the most by buyers or renters of a game and the stats on the charts listing the games are hours and minutes tallied from the day the game was launched.
