Red DSi XL
In addition, on October 22nd, Europe will also have the option of buying the New Super Mario Bros. Nintendo DSi XL Special Edition Pack, which is a red Nintendo DSi XL that has with character icons on it plus a copy of New Super Mario Bros.
Wii Remote Plus
The Wii Remote Plus, in case you were wondering, was announced on September 29th and it is a standard Wii Remote with the Motion Plus sensor built in which means that you can use controllers like the Wii Zapper and the wheel whilst still keeping the movement found in the Motion Plus.
Super Mario Bros
The New Super Mario Bros on the limited edition red Wii console gives you the first multiplayer Super Mario Bros. platform game ever. Play the adventures of Mario with your friends in tow as this game will offer a platform Mario experience for all the family to enjoy.
As with the original game, players can navigate the side-scrolling worlds of Mario alone or if they choose, players can invite up to three friends to join them at the same time on the same level at any point in the game for competitive and cooperative multiplayer fun. This New Super Mario Bros Wii has elements that we are all familiar with and love but it also introduces some fantastic new levels and surprises including quirky new suits, characters and innovative ways to use the Wii controller to guide your character through the adventure.
Just because there is the option to play with four of your friends on this new red Wii console doesn’t mean that you have to play as a team though as in this new multiplayer activity you can either help or hinder your family and friends. In a really fun twist you can throw your friends characters at the feet of the baddies to save yourself or jump on their head to get ahead! You can even use your Yoshi to eat them up and then spit them out. However, if you choose not to be bad then you can always work alongside your friends and help each other through the levels. Either way this game is guaranteed to bring out some healthy rivalry between friends and families.
Red Wii for the Serious Gamer
This is a big deal for Nintendo as Mario is one of their most popular characters so it makes sense to release a red console in honour of him. It is also great for the purchaser as since the release of the Wii it has been bundled with Wii Sports which is more about fun with your family and friends than it is the serious gamer. Not only will the red limited edition version create an interest, those that are not interested in necessarily just the limited edition but do want to buy a Nintendo console maybe in time for Christmas, will have an excellent package as it will appeal to a more hardcore gaming crowd.
This is also a great ploy for Nintendo to increase sales in what is a particularly difficult time across the world as people are not going to buy standard consoles anymore when money is tight. They are more likely to splash out on consoles that are limited edition just in time for Christmas especially as it is red to tie in with the festive red associated with Christmas.
Keep your eyes peeled on this page because as soon as the red Wii Console is released or there are pre order options on it, we will have all the great deals just in time for a red Wii Christmas!
