The Wii Party game is identified as a ‘bridging the gap’ game by Nintendo which means that it is a game for both serious and non serious gamers. If you loved the Wii Sports Resort or the mini games from Wii Fit Plus then this title is most certainly for you as it is another family friendly, group loving game.

Miis and the Wii Party
Wii Party features the Mii characters heavily and they play a new batch of party games in three categories called the Teiban Party played by one to four players and includes “teiban,” or “standard,” games like Bingo, Roulette, Mii-jan, Overseas Trip Game and Sugoroku (dice), the Pair Party game that as the title suggests is for two players on games such as Compatibility Check, Balance Ship, and Mii Awase (Mii Alignment) and the House Party section which is played by more than two people.
Many party modes for the most fun:
There are 13 different party game modes are where you get to be competitive with your friends and include games called Board Game Island, Swap Meet, Globe Trot and Spin Off Bingo. The Mii Characters are the stars of the show as they are your alter ego’s in the games and they also automatically appear if you are a player short or two.
An example of the Mii’s interacting in the game is in Board Game Island where the Miis jump over giant board game panels after a dice has been rolled. Before each round, players must compete in one of 70 mini-game’s that are part of Wii Party to determine who rolls the dice first, which once decided, the winner gets to roll two dice instead of just one. The board includes helpful squares such as move forward extra spaces, the expected squares that hurt you, and squares that might do either, such as the flying saucer square, which has you trading positions with another randomly selected player.
Try one of the 70 mini games!
Some of the 70 mini games are Crash Balls where your Mii is in a clear plastic ball in a ring and they have to try and knock over the other players into holes in the corner! Another great mini game is the Flap Hurdles (which is just like BBC’s Total Wipeout!) where your Mii has to jump over logs and barrels that are hurtling towards them!
One for the pair games called Balance Boat is the most interactive game we know of because even before starting, you have to complete a mini game which if all the players hit the targets set in the game you each get a Mii the same size as the other players which is vital as the aim of the Balance Boat game is to place up to 20 Miis on the mast of a ship while still keeping it balanced by using the Wii Remote and body balance. If you fail the mini game then you each have different sized Mii which will be tricky to keep all balanced!
This game is going to be a massive success just like the mini games before in Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort, so get it on your Wii Christmas list so you can have fun at the Wii Party!
